2006 Champions League:

Game 1:   Warta "A" vs Schwaben AC (0:4) - 5/16/06

Warta lost their first round game of the Champions League to Schwaben AC by the score of 0:4...  After scoreless first half the game picked up the tempo in the second faze..  Right in the opening minutes Schwaben took a lead off a corner kick.  When Warta pushed forward in search of an equalizer, Schwaben did not know what hit them as Lukasz Zukowski had few good shots on goal, but the German team keeper stayed alert.  Another few good chances when Warta was picking their tempo the lights went off, some say it was done by purpose to get our team off track.  It did that very well as when the game resumed, a huge mistake by Warta defender cost the a goal.  While being down 0:2, Warta coach Michal Hriso did not waste any time but gave chance other players to play.  With few minutes left in the game, and mostly the subs on the pitch, Warta got two more goals.

It was a game to watch, as both sides had good scoring opportunities, but unfortunately few unlucky goals by Schwaben gave them the lead...

Warta deserved at least a point out of this evened out game...

Game Roster: Calderorn - Teluch, Chudoba, Ozlanski, Radzik, Vega, Lasek, Halic, Giurgiu, Zukowski, Sierak - Chlebowicz, Wicha, Amegasse, Jaroszek, Orlowski..

Game 2:   Warta "A" vs ACC Eagles  ( 2:2 ) (5/31/06)

Warta faced Eagles for the second time in their history, in their first ever meeting Warta lost to Eagles 0:1 in an Open Cup game back in 2001.  This year Warta managed to tie the mighty Eagles by the score of 2:2 in Champions League group game...

It started off well for Warta as Marsin Sierak put his team ahead just minutes in the game off a penalty kick after Mojeed Ojulari was brought down in the box.  Sierak had the responsibility and took it well as he sent the keeper the other way and placed the ball in the lower left corner of the net.

Minutes later a shot well outside of the box and we were leveled 1:1.  Eagles kept their pressure on Warta but came out empty. Eagles kept their constant attacks and breakaways which kept Warta deep in their half and forced them right into their penalty box, where Eagles forward collected a loose ball and tapped it in from close range just minutes before the halftime whistle..

As it looked as the score will remain going into the halftime, Warta answered right back as Serafin Vega sent the ball deep into the far post off a corner kick and Bart Lasek headed it back just in front of the goal where Lukasz Zukowski redirected the ball just pass the Eagles keeper and just like that Warta had tied the game.

Second half was mostly the same as first, but this half created more scoring chances for either side but to only come out empty.  The refereeing was not the best especially in the second faze as some controversial calls were made against both sides.

This tie only gives Warta a point and a slim chance to advance out of the group thru the next faze.

Game Roster: G.Calderon - J.Teluch, W.Chudoba, S.Radzik, D.Orlowski, M.Ojulari, B.Lasek, I.Halic, M.Cozza, M.Sierak, L.Zukowski - A.Ozlanski, S.Vega, L.Borys, P.Chlebowicz..

Warta "A" vs Atl. Nacional  (0:5) (6/14/06)

A very disappointing outcome in the last game of the Champions League for Warta, loosing 0:5 looked like it was the best it could have happen to the team.  Warta playing the semi final game of the State Cup on Friday vs Adria will have to step up and play much better soccer then they have shown today.

Today it was a game at which the outcome did not play any part, Warta started off without Lukasz Zukowski, and Mojeed Ojulari, but were introduced in the 20th minute.

It was a very poor performance by the entire team..  Warta have finished last in their group with only one point..

Game Roster: G.Sulocha - J.Teluch, W.Chudoba, A.Ozlanski, B.Lasek, T.Jaroszek, I.Halic, R.Giurgiu, S.Vega, D.Orlowski, M.Sierak - L.Zukowski, M.Ojulari
