Day 1- Saturday July 22, 2006

On day one of the 2006 Green & White Soccerfest Tournament , Warta opened their day with a game against Deportivo Cali with a 1:2 loss. Warta took a lead on Lukasz Zukowski's goal, but were cought napping minutes later when Cali took a quick free kick and equalized.

Cali got their lead five minutes before the end of the game. It was a poor performance by Warta as they dropped a game that should have been won.

Second game of the day, Warta came out strong - with the presence of injured Traian Maier in the midfield made the outcome of the game, and Warta beat Schwaben AC 2:1 on goals from Mojeed Ojulari and Lukasz Zukowski.. This was a totally different game as the team settled down a created great scoring chances.. The only thing is that they still allowed the opponents to make few plays..

The third game of the day was against another Polish team out of the group Galaxy which ended with a 0:0 tie. With the absence of Lukasz Zukowski in this game was all the difference as Warta could not score on a great scoring opportunities.

Warta played this tournament without few starting players and had to rearange and play some off their regular position. The late arrival of Traian Maier and Andy Ozlanski was a great support for the team..

Day 2 - Sunday July 23, 2006

Warta vs Chicago Stars: 2:3- Warta opened their second day of the tournament with a loss against a tough Chicago Star Team. As the team fell behind a goal Marcin Sierak equalized with a great header off a pass from Lukasz Zukowski. Later referee awarded a penalty kick on which Sierak scored and put his team ahead, but a costly mistake by the keeper allowed the Starts to level. In the second half, both teams played a very well soccer, Stanislaw Radzik hit the cross bar, and Lukasz Zukowski was stopped a the goal line. Warta keeper Gonzalo saved a penalty kick which was awarded to the Stars in a controversial call. Minutes later Zukowski was brought down inside the box, but the referee signaled to play on. Another bad call by the referee as Stanislaw Radzik was pushed off the ball and out of bounce. Stars got their winner just minutes from the end, on a poor defending by Warta.

The second game of the day was against KF Ulqin on which Warta lost by the score of 1:2. Warta took the lead on a spectacular ball thru from Stanislaw Radizk to Marcin Sierak, as he one touch kick found the back of the net. Later referee awarded a penalty kick as what he saw a hand ball on which Ulqin equalized. In the second half, Ulqin got their lead off a miss kicked clearance by the Warta defenders. Warta had a chance to equalized as Sierak was brought down inside the penalty box, but the penalty kick was taken by the youngest player off the tournament Tomasz Jaroszek who is 15 years old as his shot was well read by the keeper..

The last game had no difference for neither team, what the outcome would be, that is why Warta led all their players play in this one..
