Wartas’ poor performance at the Baraboo Tournament!

 Wartas’ worst performance in any competition came this year at the Baraboo Wing Soccer Tournament.  With just 7 players and without keeper, Warta lost all four games and managed to score just one goal in the entire competition.

Despite good games, Warta came out empty as every shot on their goal was a sure score for the opponents.

First game against Pegasus, formerly Winged Bull of the NSL – Warta played with 7 players and filled the spot with four spectators which traveled with the team and conceived a goal in the first minute.  After that, the team put pressure from counter attacks but were unable to score.  Pegasus finally figured out that the person in goal is not a keeper and kept scoring from every possession they had putting in three more goals before the end of the game.

 Second game Warta vs Crusaders of Minnesota had a keeper from the Over 40 Royal Wawel Team, but poor defending allowed an early goal and then the second followed.  Zukowski scored a beautiful goal to cut the lead at half, but then blown chances the team had turned in favor of the opponents who scored another goal to set the score of the match 3:1..

 Third game of the competition came against favors Connection, right from the start they took advantage of the absent keeper once again, and put five in back of Wartas net to cruse to a 5:0 lead.

 Fourth and Final game Warta met with first place HH, this time Warta starting the game without two more of their players had a keeper from Over 40 Connection team and played the game well.  Tired legs and bodies of Warta players on a very hot day played the huge roll in the loss.  The team did have chances to score but playing two men short was incapable to keep up to the tempo and conceived three goals, giving the opponents first place in their group which allowed them to play the final.

 Warta despite shortage in players, played every game of the competition with respect and fun.
