Warta "B" vs
Chicago Thunder SC (2 : 3)
Wednesday August 24, 2011 - Hawthorn
Park - Cicero, Illinois
NSL League Game:
Warta B looses to Chicago Thunder
SC for second straight game!!
Sunday handing Chicago Thunder easy points as
Warta B couldn’t get the full squad to face the opponents came back to hurt them
again days later.
Two defensive mistakes and a penalty kick was enough for
Thunder to take game two as they defeated Warta
by the score of 3:2..
Rafal Jaros and David Leon scored for the home side, but
early mistakes made them pay at the expense of defeat.
Poorly executed plays and lack of team work,
became a huge factor in the defeat on Wednesday night at
Hawthorn
Park in Cicero.
While being down by two goals, Rafal Jaros cut
the deficit in half before the half time whistle.
Right from the opening minutes of the second half, Warta pushed up in search of an equalizer but found
themselves down as a foul inside the box earned them a red card and a penalty
kick which Thunder converted easily.
One man and two goals down, Warta
pushed almost everyone up the field leaving much room for opponents to work
with, but great keeping by A. Toledo kept them at bay.
Finally with five minutes left in the game, David Leon finished off a great
effort with a goal. Before the goal which set the final
scoreline, few great chances were missed by both sides, the biggest one was an
open net close range miss by Warta player.
Defeat places Warta
back in the fight to stay up in the First Division for next season with four
games remaining in the season.
