Wednesday August 17, 2011 - Hawthorn
Park - Cicero, Illinois
NSL League Game:
Warta
drops first of two games to Gazelle SC!!
On Wednesday night - Warta
“A” lost to Gazelle SC 1:4 in a make up game.
Once again Warta started
the game with one man down but controlled the game until the late player
arrived. With full squad on the pitch, the team created
chances and got a great goal scored by Junior Aguilar, as a cross from Jonathan
Hernandez into the box found Aguilar and he didn’t miss from a close ranged.
Gazelle tried to break thru Wartas’ defense but
every time they got shutdown avoiding any danger in front of the goal.
Finally, they equalized minutes before the second half from
a penalty kick, as a Gazelle player stumbled on the edge of the box provoking a
controversial call by the official to award the kick.
With score locked at 1:1 before the half,
Warta
midfielder Agustin Aguierre had two shots which missed just by few inches over
the bar. New comer Marcos Kan
had few great runs but also missed out on a great scoring effort.
In the second half, Gazelle found their way
thru Wartas’ defense and scored three unanswered goals to take the lead for
good.
Warta on the other hand made an effort to bounce back and
causing Gazelle keeper to make few great saves late in the game to prevent the
win over tired Warta players.
The loss dropped Warta
even further down from making the playoffs and pushing them down into the danger
zone with plenty of games to play before the season ends.
