Warta earn their
first victory of the 2012 Year!!
Two goals by Adrian
Guzman and singles from Aaron Romo and Rafael Castanon put
Warta back into the winning column ending
their loosing streak at three games.
With just two players on the bench,
Warta dominated the entire game giving them
a well deserved victory over OP Tricycles 4:2..
First half brought no goals for either side
despite many chances were created. Warta
played very smart moving the ball around and forcing the opponent to play their
kind of game from minute one.
In a much pressured game, Warta
players stayed calmed and waited for the mistakes which eventually came but once
again scoring was the issue.
In the second half, lack of scoring took turn
for better, first Guzman scored a goal on a power play to give
Warta
a 1:0 lead..
While leading 1:0, Warta
was forced to play a man down for a blue card shown to the keeper Manuel Gomez
for a save outside the box, preventing the opponents from scoring.
Playing a man down, Warta
defended well but then were forced to play two men down for over a minute for
another blue card penalty to Gustavo Rosendo.. With 3 on 5
defending, Warta was perfect in executing the
penalty kill giving the opponents no clear chances to equalize.
=Soon after the play resumed in full strength,
Wartas’ quick counter attack made it 2:0 as Guzman scored his second on the
evening. Tricycles finally got their goal off a mistake made
in the back, but Aaron Romo answered right back giving his team a two goal lead
back.
Last few minutes got interested as Tricycles made it 3:2 on
a shot from long range where the ball found its way thru the traffic in fron of
the keeper who never saw it coming.
With mored then a minute left in the game, Rafael Castanon
scored the final security goal in a style, as his run from the defensive line
made all the way forward, having an option of passing to his team mate faked the
keeper and calmly placed the ball to the back of the net.
Great performance and finally the team showed
that they also can score goal which they were lacking in the two previous games.
Much needed win after three straight losses keeps
Warta within four points to earn a playoff spot.

Stuart Swanson scored the only goal for
Warta
as they had no one on the bench and no keeper due to weather and heavy snow
fall. Team stood no chances as all they could have done is to defend and
keep the game from being a blowout.
